Choosing Treatment

CHOOSING TREATMENT

Admitting that you have a problem with drugs and/or alcohol and deciding to enter treatment are the first step towards reclaiming your life. But once that decision is made, finding treatment that is right for YOU can seem like a daunting task. Fortunately, there are a variety of different treatment options to suit whatever your needs may be.

DETOX

Many addicts and alcoholics may need to undergo a safe medical DETOX before beginning any form of treatment. A detox is the period of time that it will take for the “active” toxins, which are interfering with the normal functions of the body, to be released. It is highly recommended that you do this under the supervision of a team of doctors familiar with the detoxification process. Attempting to detox yourself without medical assistance, depending on the type and quantity of the drug you were taking as well as the length of time you were using, could have serious side effects, including death. Also, there are number of detoxification drugs that your doctor can administer that can ease the pain and side effects of detoxification.

INPATIENT REHAB

Most people suffering from serious long-term addictions find committing to an INPATIENT REHAB FACILITY is the most effective form of treatment. An inpatient facility is often the most successful form of treatment for a number of reasons. Inpatient rehab immerses you in treatment 24 hours a day. You are able to remove yourself from the daily stresses you face at home and devote all of your energy to recovery. You will also be surrounded by others looking to better themselves and live a sober life. And finally, you will work on a daily basis with a treatment team to make sure you receive the correct medication and/or therapy needed.

SOBER LIVING/OUTPATIENT REHAB

After completing inpatient treatment, you may feel as if you need additional assistance before going back home. SOBER LIVING FACILITIES offer a supportive environment to assist with transitioning back to your life. Sober living allows you more freedom, but with the continued support of a sober community as well as holding clients accountable in their recovery. Clients are often required to submit to random drug testing and attend daily recovery meetings. Many INPATIENT TREATMENT FACILITIES also offer an OUTPATIENT REHAB program, where you can continue intensive treatment while living off the premises.

Whatever you decide, getting treatment for your drug and alcohol problem is an essential part of reinventing yourself into a sober individual. It offers the support, information, and assistance you need to begin your journey towards freedom from addiction.
