Care For The Dual Diagnosis
Oceanside works closely with out-patient programs, therapists, and psychiatrists in our community. We understand that many people entering sober living also have co-existing disorders that may include depression, bi-polar disorder, ADD, eating disorders, post traumatic stress disorder, or anxiety. For many clients managing sobriety, medication and out-patient treatment can be overwhelming. Transitions will hold onto client’s medication while they are here to ensure that proper doses are taken each day. If a client is having difficulty and needs increased therapy visits or a medication adjustment Our director, who is a licensed therapist, will help to facilitate needed intervention quickly. While sober living does not treat the underlying disorders directly we recognize the importance of properly diagnosing and treating all co-existing disorders in order to maintain long term sobriety. Our Clinical Director has years of experience working both on an in-patient psychiatric unit as well as at rehabs in Malibu. The Ocenaside program and staff are well equipped to handle the challenges faced by those with dual diagnosis.
