DANGEROUS METHODS: Eating Disorders

Ipecac Syrup: numerous human beings with eating disorders "exploit" this syrup, Ipecac Syrup, formulated to promote and induce vomiting but should only be consumed in instances of accidental poisoning. Recurrent use can lead the heart muscles to dwindle and diminish. It can bring about irregular heartbeats, chest pains, breathing difficulties, hurried heart rate, and cardiac arrest. It is extremely perilous and has been the source of death in various individuals afflicted with an eating disorder.

Laxatives: Ex-Lax and Correctol are the most typical laxatives acquainted with a person suffering from an eating disorder. The person typically feels like they have lost weight due to the amount of fluid that is lost. That feeling is only temporary because the body will start to retain water within a 48 to 72 hour period. This customarily vacates the person feeling bloated and worried they are gaining weight. This is commonly what causes these individuals to continue their repeated consumption of these products. Laxative abuse can bring about unpleasant effects such as: bloody diarrhea, electrolyte imbalances and dehydration. Various people discover that after continued use they are unable to move their bowels without the assistance of a laxative product. The person, in addition, may also encounter constipation, serious abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting. Laxative abuse is very dangerous, can result in permanent damage to the bowels, critical medical obstacles and potentially, death.

Diuretics (water pills): Diuretics give the person consuming them a feeling of weight loss. A person will only lose vital fluids and electrolytes however when using this product. Within a day or two the body will react and start to retain water, causing the individual to take them more consistently and frequently. Abuse of this product generally results in dehydration which can further lead to and cause kidney damage. Electrolyte imbalances can evolve from consistent consumption which will inevitably become an extremely serious complication later on. Your body's electrolytes must be in equilibrium in order for your organs, like the heart, kidney, and liver, to perform correctly. As soon as the electrolytes get off balance with one another, the individual's risk for heart failure and sudden death significantly increases; repeated use can cause serious medical problems.

Diet Pills: the majority of diet pills being produced within our markets today are unfortunately, not safe, and can actually give rise to serious side effects and have ended in death. Diet pills are not a valuable or healthy way to lose weight. They are extremely risky to one's health and moreover, may prompt the onset of even more severe medical complications and even death.
