Sober Living is Not Drug Rehab

Sober living and transitional living, play an important role in supporting treatment and recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. Sober living helps individuals maintain their foundation from drug rehab and establish a living environment that supports sobriety and recovery. Sober living residents are free to organize and participate in self-help meetings and other group meetings that help them maintain their sobriety. While Oceanside Malibu Transitional Living does not provide treatment or detoxification services, members of the house are able to provide support for one another through daily conversations and house organized meetings to promote sobriety and recovery.

Individuals at Oceanside Malibu often become residents after being in a licensed non-medical residential alcohol or drug rehab or another type of treatment facility. Oceanside Malibu serves to help those individuals transition from residential treatment or a drug rehab facility back into their daily lives. Oceanside Malibu serves as a way to help those individuals to transition back into daily life while helping them to maintain their recovery.

Oceanside Malibu is a sober living environment and, as such, not required to be licensed by the state because it is not a treatment facility. Oceanside Malibu makes sure that a person who is in recovery lives in a place that is free from alcohol and drug use. The residents themselves reinforce their recovery through giving and receiving support from other individuals in recovery. The residents of Oceanside Malibu are free to voluntarily pursue activities to support their recovery, either alone or with others. Oceanside Malibu provides recovering addicts with an environment where they can maintain their sobriety and where they can work towards filfilling lifelong dreams.
